About the film
Every year, thousands of snakes are killed out of fear.
But what if they are not the enemy?
On the island of Bali, where ancient traditions honor snakes as sacred, modern life is disrupting a fragile balance. Rapid tourism and habitat loss are bringing humans and snakes into increasing conflict, often with deadly consequences for both.
This documentary tells the story of the people working on the front lines to change this.
These conservationists risk their lives to safely relocate snakes, educate communities, and prove that coexistence is possible. They are challenging centuries of fear with knowledge, compassion, and action, turning what many see as a threat into an opportunity for balance.
For thousands of years, snakes have lived between myth and reality. Some cultures revere them as gods, while others fear them as evil. Beyond these beliefs lies a deeper truth. They are essential to the ecosystems we all depend on.
This film will take you into Bali’s temples, jungles, and communities to uncover that truth and to show what happens when humans choose understanding over fear.
This is an independently produced film, driven by a personal commitment to tell this story with honesty and care, working directly alongside local conservationists and communities in Bali.

Why "Snakes in Paradise" Is Personal
I've spent more than one and a half years living in Bali. I know the language, understand the culture, and have access to places and people that tourists can never reach. Because of this, I've captured stunning footage across this vibrant island and conducted exclusive interviews with people who risk their lives daily to rescue snakes and other animals.
These misunderstood creatures face incredibly hard times. I need your help to share their urgent story with the world.
I've delivered award-winning films before. With your support, we'll bring this one to festivals worldwide.
